The emotions that bombard us when our darling companion dogs die are enormous – grief, loneliness, disbelief. In the midst of that, we can make a small choice that pays tribute to our beloved animals and our precious environment at the same time. Aquamation is a gentle, eco-friendly process that uses water and temperature instead of fire for pet cremation, using 90% less energy, with 1/10 of the carbon released. It is offered by the GTA’s Midtown Mobile Veterinary Hospice Services through its sister company, Faithful Pet Memorial.
Faithful Pet offers private aquamation, where you receive your pet’s ashes in a container of your choice, or communal aquamation, where your pet is cremated along with those of other families and their ashes are collectively scattered in Lake Ontario.
Nobody can fill the pawprints of our dogs when they’re gone, but at least we can leave a greener footprint.
